Ms Clare Corbett

Head of Year One

Year One B Teacher

From 2002 to 2006, Ms Corbett taught Reception, Year 3 and Year 4 at The Hill Primary School, Rotherham, UK.

In 2006 Ms Corbett moved to Dubai and taught Year 2 at Jebel Ali Primary School where she was also Art and Design Technology coordinator. 

Ms Janine O’Higgins BEd in Primary Education from St. Mary’s University College Belfast, UK

Year One A Teacher

After university Ms O’Higgins taught in her local primary school in Newcastle, Northern Ireland.  She then decided to move abroad to Qatar to begin her first international teaching post.

Ms O’Higgins has been teaching a Year 1 class in Qatar and is joining the Year 1 team at JPS in 2010.

Janine enjoys many competitive sports including Irish dancing, gaelic football and netball. She has organised and led various sporting events, excursions and has co-ordinated productions.

Ms Nicola Baker

Year One C Teacher

Ms Baker joined JPS in January 2009 and is currently teaching in Year 1.

Before joining JPS, Ms Baker has had an extensive experience of teaching younger children in both Foundation Stage and Years 1 and 2.

Ms Rachel Barber BA Hons English Language with QTS, York St John University, UK

Year One D Teacher

After university, Ms Barber taught FS2 in an outstanding school in Staffordshire, UK before moving to London to teach Year 3, where she was also ICT Co-ordinator.

Ms Barber has also taught in orphanages abroad and enjoys swimming, playing the piano, keeping fit and playing golf.

Ms Rebecca Sadler

Year One E Teacher

Ms Sadler taught Year 2 for four years at The Stoke Poges School, Stoke Poges, UK, before joining JPS in September 2009.
Ms Sarah Roberts BA Hons History, University of Newcastle Upon Tyne

Year One F Teacher

Post Graduate Certificate of Education specializing in Early Years SCITT from  University of Northumbria, Newcastle.

After gaining her teaching qualification, Ms Roberts enjoyed teaching in KS1 at an Infant School in Sunderland, UK.
She has spent the last two years teaching in an Elementary school in North Carolina, United States.

She is thrilled to be joining the Year 1 team at JPS.

Ms Helen Hingley
Ms Helen Hingley

BA (Honours) Sociology, University of Leicester, Leicester, East Midlands, UK.

PGCE Early Years and KS1, Newman University College, Birmingham, West Midlands, UK.

Year One G Teacher

Ms Hingley started teaching Year 2 and Year 3 mixed year groups in 2007 at the Special School in the West Midlands, UK.

Ms Hingley joined JPS in 2009.

MacDougall
Mrs Kat MacDougall

PGCE – Primary 5-11 – Sheffield Hallam University

Year Two C Teacher

Mrs MacDougall taught at Mangotsfield Primary School Bristol from 2002-2004. She has also worked as an ICT support teacher and Numeracy coordinator.

Mrs MacDougall was a year 2 teacher at JPS until 2007 when she became Head of Year 2.

Year Two A Teacher

Mr Bensusan began teaching in Green Lane Primary School, Surrey in 2001, where he taught in Year 3.  In his last year there, 2003 to 2004, he was a Year 2 Teacher.

He joined JPS in 2004 and has been a Year 1 teacher until 2008.

Ms Andrea Rose

Year Two B Teacher

Ms Rose has recently moved back to Dubai and has joined JPS as a Year 2 teacher, after working as a Supply Teacher for the school.

Previously, she had been working with a Year 6 class in Brisbane, Australia.

Ms Helen Keeling

BA Hons Fine Art, Loughborough University

Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching, University of Leicester

Year Two D Teacher

 

After gaining her teaching qualification, Helen worked at The Hall School in Leicester where she taught a Year 1 class. She moved to Dubai and has enjoyed the last two years teaching year 1 children with English as an additional language.

Helen is an energetic person who likes to keep fit through dance and yoga. She is also passionate about The Arts and enjoys enriching her life through travel.

Mrs Nicole Jordan
Mrs Nicole Jordan
BEd Primary with a major in community languages, Melbourne University, Australia.

Year Two E Teacher

Mrs Jordan started her teaching career in the King River Valley, Melbourne. She has since taught in both rural and city schools throughout Australia, both as a primary school teacher and a language teacher.

Mrs Jordan joined JPS in 2007.

Year Two F Teacher

Mrs Perkins taught Years 3 and 4 in a primary school in Bedford, where she was also the Gifted and Talented Co-Ordinator.

Mrs Perkins also spent a year teaching Year 2 at Jebel Ali Primary school before joining JPS as a Year 2 Teacher in 2007.

Mr Daniel Smith BA (Hons) Primary Education with Science, University of Surrey Roehampton, UK

Year Two G Teacher

 

After completing university, Mr Smith went on to teach Year 3 for 4 years in a school in Ham, Surrey, where he was also sports and healthy schools co-ordinator.

Subsequently, Mr Smith has taught Year 2 at The Vineyard School in Richmond, Surrey as a class teacher and maths co-ordinator.

Daniel enjoys sports, playing the guitar and the world of film.
