A VISIT BY KEITH HOLLAND, BEHAVIOURAL OPTOMETRIST

Keith Holland, BSc, FCOptom, FCOVD, FAAO, DCLP, runs a specialist optometry practice in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, UK, working mostly with children who have specific learning difficulties or dyslexia. To date, he has carried out in-depth assessments on over 7,500 children over the last ten years, and has patients not only all over Britain, but in thirty countries abroad as well. Mr Holland has worked on a number of research projects, notably in researching the effects of coloured lenses on dyslexia in association with The Medical Research Council, and has lectured extensively in Britain, Europe, America and Australia. He has contributed to numerous publications on vision and dyslexia, and is the only Briton to have been awarded Fellowship of The College of Optometrists in Vision Development in The United States.
In 1991 Mr Holland founded the British Association of Behavioural Optometry, the country’s largest specialist organisation in the field of vision problems and learning. His practice in Cheltenham has twice been recognised in national awards as the Specialist Eyecare Practice of the Year.
