The Dyslexia Unit

Dyslexia Unit in JPS

The Dyslexia Unit at Jumeirah Primary School provides one-to-one structured, cumulative, multi-sensory teaching for dyslexic students who require intensive support with their phonological skills.

Lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis and are attended by the student’s parents.  This ensures coordinated support between school and home and the development of Individual Education Plans for each student, facilitates coordinated support with class teachers and parents.

Dyslexia Unit Facilities at JPS

Staff in the Dyslexia Unit are qualified Specialist Dyslexia Teachers, with extensive experience of successfully supporting dyslexic students.  Teachers are also familiar with the resources available to promote multi-sensory learning and have the experience to match the resources to the student’s needs.

Staff also work in conjunction with outside specialists when the need arises.The support provided in the Dyslexia Unit facilitates the inclusion of students in the mainstream environment.
