International School Awards
Jumeirah Primary School was the International School Awards 2019 award winner for Initiative to Support School Wellbeing (Including Sustainability and Safeguarding). We are delighted that our passion for ‘Wellbeing for All’ was shared by the esteemed panel and celebrated with such a prestigious award.
We are thrilled to be working with the ArtsEd international team, whose aim it is to unlock creativity, build self-esteem and confidence and develop vital life skills in our students and teachers. Since our partnership began in 2019, their highly-skilled team members have delivered a number of innovative workshops that have positively impacted curriculum design and student outcomes.

British Schools in the Middle East
As a member of British Schools Middle East (BSME), GEMS JPS has been formally quality-assured to ensure we offer a British style education, with a curriculum that is based on significant aspects of the National Curriculum for England and Wales of a standard that would be found in leading UK schools, and that all teaching staff, including the Principal, are suitably qualified and legally employed.
Makaton Friendly Scheme
Jumeirah Primary School was the first school in the region to be awarded the prestigious Makaton Friendly School status.
We are extremely proud that JPS is such an inclusive school. We constantly try our very best to ensure our school environment and community is a positive learning experience for all. The Makaton Friendly School status has been awarded in recognition of our efforts to make sure that those using Makaton feel welcome at JPS.
British Makaton is used by some of our children to aid in their communication skills and understanding of their world around them. Members of our teaching staff have been trained to use Makaton to help, whether it is a friendly greeting to a child, a symbol drawing to help in writing skills, a sign to aid in understanding what they are being asked in maths or a song or story told with actions to help with memory and for enjoyment. It all helps in promoting effective communication, language acquisition and independence.
Dubai Cares works in partnership with UN aid agencies and international and local NGOs to implement education programs targeting children and young adults to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning by 2030. GEMS JPS is a long-standing active partner of Dubai Cares and, as part of their Adopt-a-School initiative, has so far donated enough money to build and fund four schools and education centres, bringing quality education, stability and purpose to hundreds of vulnerable children and young adults globally.
Jumeirah Primary School was delighted to be nominated and selected as finalists for several Schools Compared Top School Award categories, including Best Primary School in UAE 2019, Best School in UAE 2019 and Best School Principal in UAE 2019.
