Sarah Roberts
Assistant Principal: Learning and Teaching – FS & KS1
Originally from the Midlands, Ms Roberts completed her BA (Hons) in History at Newcastle University before achieving her PGCE at Northumbria University. She later completed her Master’s in Teaching at the Institute of Education (IOE), further strengthening her expertise in learning, teaching, and school leadership. Her teaching career began in both the United Kingdom and the United States, where she gained valuable experience working within diverse early years and primary settings and developed a deep passion for early learning.
In 2010, Ms Roberts moved to Dubai, embracing the exciting opportunity to join JPS—a school she immediately felt connected to and remains deeply committed to. Over the years, she has taught in FS2 and Year 1, served as Head of Year for FS1, and led wholeschool pedagogy, supporting teachers in embedding highquality, researchinformed practice across the early years. Her longstanding dedication to JPS has been shaped by the strong sense of community, shared purpose, and the joy of contributing to a school where children are confidently nurtured to thrive.
Ms Roberts is now proud to be the Assistant Principal for Learning and Teaching across FS and KS1. In this role, she works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the JPS ethos—everyone welcome, everyone belongs, everyone achieves—remains central to all aspects of school life. She is committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
Having recently completed her NPQSL, Ms Roberts continues to strengthen her leadership practice and remains dedicated to mentoring and developing colleagues within Early Years and lower primary. Her academic background and international teaching experience have shaped her passion for early years pedagogy, where curiosity, exploration, and purposeful play are at the heart of children’s learning.
Beyond school, Ms Roberts loves spending time outdoors and discovering fun new places with her son, whether exploring nature, trying new activities, or simply enjoying the sunshine together.
